The 2023 TEAN Conference will be held on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th May 2023 as a face-to-face event at the Macdonald Hotel, Manchester.
The TEAN annual conference provides professional development for teacher educators through networking to share practice and critically engage with advanced scholarship. In addition to provocative keynotes, there is a wide choice of presentations by teacher educators. About half of the presentations focus on critical evaluation of innovative practice and the other half on research into teacher education and development. All of the sessions are based on advanced scholarship and aim to support the development of research-informed practice in teacher education and in school teaching.
In calling for contributions for presentation for TEAN Conference 2023 we welcome a wide range of topics related to teacher education and development but in addition would like to encourage presentations related to the theme of curriculum. This theme focuses on theory, research, policy, and practice around both the teacher education curriculum and school curriculum. The theme encourages debate on the purposes of education and critical consideration of a ‘knowledge-rich’ curriculum, the contested concept of ‘powerful knowledge’, teacher knowledge, decolonising the curriculum, and provision for teaching transdisciplinary big societal issues including climate change, poverty and equity within diverse societies.
The deadline for submissions of conference proposals will be 6th January 2023.
